Laboratory waste can be made of of many different things including human waste, animal waste, infectious waste, sharps biohazards and hazardous waste.  Because of this, laboratories have specific needs based on their volume and onsite storage capabilities. For this reason XMED offers a "Professional Exposure Review" for each Facility prior to quoting a fee for service. This review is done on site at your Facility by a trained professional. It is designed to verify the Facility's compliance ratio and identifies areas of potential improvement. The report is confidential, it's free, and is provided to the head of Environmental Services as a tool.

Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal

Pharmacies have unique disposal needs for expired or contaminated medications as well as Sharps and other Regulated Medical Waste created from services provided to their customers. XMED offers regulatory compliant disposal services to meet the needs of pharmacies located anywhere in the United States. We recommend the XMED MAIL SYSTEM as the proper method of shipping Pharmaceutical Waste. The XMED MAIL SYSTEM provides the Pharmacy with a containment system and manifest to insure that your material is handled in a compliant manner. The material is treated utilizing a combination of Steam Autoclave and Incineration techniques.

XMED holds a Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy and is in the process of applying for approval to dispose of Schedule II narcotics from the United States Drug Enforcement Agency. XMED is unable to provide a Schedule II form for the transfer of narcotics at this time.
